Converting clinical documents without a BAA
Any vendor that processes protected health information (PHI) on your behalf is a business associate under HIPAA and needs a signed Business Associate Agreement before you can legally use their service for patient records — a step most clinicians don't have time to chase down for a one-off PDF conversion.
Because PrivaPDF's conversion runs entirely inside the browser and PHI never reaches an external server, there's no business associate relationship to establish. The same local processing also means it keeps working on hospital networks with restrictive firewalls, since nothing depends on reaching an external API after the page loads.
